Geographical Coverage

HOPE has a strong geographical presence across Pakistan, implementing projects in 33 districts of Balochistan Province, as well as in Multan City of Punjab, Khairpur City of Sindh, and Mardan City of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Moreover, HOPE has been actively engaged in implementing interventions under multiple international networks such as FANSA, SWA, START, GNDR, and others across all provinces of Pakistan.

WASH

  • Advocacy and lobbying for WASH rights of vulnerable communities

  • Construction of latrines, hand washing & bathing point, drainage as well as solid waste disposal system in rural and semi-urban areas:
  • Provision of water & Sanitation facilities at BHUs, health clinics and schools.
  • Organizing health & hygiene behavior change sessions for community
  • Engaging with the communities to solve their own water and sanitation problems.
  • Ensuring access to clean drinking water and sanitation facilities for all and particularly in emergency situations.

Health

  • Organize mobile health unit sand camps
  • Commence long-term health programs to improve health facilities to benefit maximum population particularly in rural areas.
  • Build capacity of health staff at district, Tehsil and UC levels to ensure effectiveness of their services
  • Spread awareness about health issues through awareness sessions, Behaviour change communication among community members at HH and Village level.
  • Form and strengthen Committees for health, social services and public safety.

Education

  • Dissemination of information on technology and quality education
  • Improve educational services through awareness raising in communities with the support of education department & other stake holders.
  • Promote importance of education through print, electronic media and awareness walk & enrollment campaigns
  • Build teaching and learning capacity of school teacher to improve performances of students.
  • Construction of new class, improve maintenance of school Infrastructure and provision of missing facilities.
  • Spread Awareness and advocate for equal opportunities for girls education.

Emergency response and Relief

  • Provision and development of IEC material for community awareness.
  • Support Rescue and rehabilitation initiatives of communities, governments and international relief organizations.
  • Behavior Change and Communication (BCC) campaigns and sessions at community level
  • Rehabilitation and Construction of shelters, health units, schools, WATSAN facilities agriculture and irrigation sachems.
  • Provision of immediate life-saving services to effected people to reduce suffering and bring relief.
  • Provision of food and non-food items (NFIs) to effected communities.

Child Rights

  • Awareness raising about child rights and relevant laws
  • Organize recreational activities in schools, community and District level
  • Implementation of projects to improve education and health services provision for children.
  • Awareness raising, sensitization and advocate at all levels to end child labour
  • Capacity building of parents and teachers on child protection
  • Survey and data analysis to highlight child rights violations
  • Advocacy and lobbying with Government, Civil society and policy makers for pro-child legislation.
  • Provision of play and recreational activities for children with collaboration of international donors and Governments.

Nutrition & Food Security

  • Awareness raising through Behavioral Change Communication to improve infant and young child feeding.
  • Plan and implement, intensive interventions to provide interpersonal counseling, community mobilization and mass media campaigns to promote breastfeeding and complementary feeding.
  • Implementation of projects to reduce malnutrition and address primary healthcare issues of children.
  • Advocacy for and implementation of projects addressing wasting, stunting, vitamin and mineral deficiency, overweight or obesity and diet-related non-communicable diseases in Balochistan.
  • Advocacy and lobbying to address contributing factors in Childhood malnutrition that includes: low birth weight, inadequate breast feeding and exclusive breastfeeding, inappropriate complementary feeding, maternal education, lack of proper knowledge of nutrition, micronutrient intake, parity, birth spacing, household socioeconomic status, food insecurity, poor sanitation, vaccination and infectious diseases etc.
  • Address iron deficiency among children and Iron deficiency anemia among women.

Climate Change and Environment

  • Community mobilization and advocacy to combat negative impacts of Climate Change.
  • Promotion of tree plantation through awareness raising and adopt a tree concept at community level.
  • Advocacy and lobbying to ensure sustainable and equitable use of resources without degrading the environment or risking health or safety.
  • Prevent and control degradation of land, water, vegetation and air.
  • Conserve and enhance natural and man-made heritage, including biological diversity of unique ecosystems.
  • Conduct Environmental Impact Assessment before each development project (Need based/as per Donor requirements).
